About the recipe
Potatoes come first in the ingredient list, followed by ocean fish meal. The manufacturer makes the fish meal from whole herring, anchovies and sardines from the Pacific Ocean. After that you’ll find tomato pomace, chicken fat preserved with mixed tocopherols, yeast and glucosamine.
The food contains 20% protein and 8% fat, less than the other FirstMate fish recipes for dogs. Animal ingredients provide 70% of the protein. It is free of grains and soy and is made in Canada, in the manufacturer’s own factory in Chilliwack, British Columbia. The fats are added to the kibble under vacuum, so they are spread throughout each piece, not just on the surface.
